diy Homemade oatmeal body scrub

People often say that the caffeine in coffee helps reduce the appearance of aging skin. For all I know, coffee is a great exfoliater and also helps reduce the appearance of bumpiness.

For people with sensitive skin, oatmeal is the best substitute for coffee. It is lightly exfoliating while also soothing for the skin. The olive oil adds moisture while also helping this mixture stay together and apply easily.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup ground oatmeal or coffee grounds (the coffee is more invigorating—choose oatmeal for sensitive skin)
  • A few drops of your favorite essential oil.

Instructions:

  • Grind the dry ingredients until you get a fine powder and into it mix the liquid ingredients.
  • Store the mixture in a dry place for up to 4 weeks. To use, wet skin first, and then apply the mixture in circular motions, gently exfoliating.
  • Wash the mixture off using a hydrating body scrub and lukewarm water.

One thing to be aware of is that using this scrub in your shower requires some clean up afterwards!

Use this scrub twice a week for positive results. Why? because oatmeal is one of the best natural exfoliators. Not only does it help get rid of dead skin cells but it also soothes and heals troubled skin.
